A host of PGA Partners teed off for the inaugural ‘PGA Partners’ Big Golf Race’ and raised £6,000 for Prostate Cancer UK.

The event involved a 36-hole challenge navigating The Belfry’s PGA National Course in the morning, followed by lunch and 18 holes on The Derby in the afternoon. The challenge finished with a well-earned drink in Sam’s Bar and prize giving for the teams from The Belfry, St. James’s Place and Titleist, which wrapped up a successful first event of its kind for the association’s commercial partners.

The PGA and Prostate Cancer UK hosted teams from Asbri, Clover, Club Car, Glenmuir, Golfbidder, 59club, St. James’s Place, Titleist, Footjoy and The Belfry.

“The Big Golf Race is Prostate Cancer UK’s flagship golf fundraiser, where golfers take on 36 or 72 holes in a day,” said David Adams, Head of Commercial at The PGA.

“We’re looking to host this event every year and we feel two rounds provides a good challenge for our partners and time to network whilst raising money to beat the most common cancer in men.”

Matt Holdstock, Sports Engagement Manager, Prostate Cancer UK, added, “We were very proud to work with the PGA; to bring together their partners for a fun day for an important cause which affects 1 in 8 men in the UK. Prostate Cancer UK’s Big Golf Race is raising money to help fund lifesaving research to keep golfers and their families in the game for longer. We have ambitions to make the Big Golf Race bigger and better, and the no.1 charity golf event in the UK. We need the support of our partners to achieve this, and we look forward to working with the PGA, their members, and their partners to do this next year and beyond.”
