The par 71, 6,218 metre PGA National Italy Golf Course was established in 2006 and became the PGA National Italy in 2019, joining an exclusive collection of some of the finest golf courses in Europe, including the PGA National Golf Courses at Oaks Prague, Czech Republic, Modry Las, Poland and Antalya Turkey.
Both the course and driving range were designed by the architect, David Mezzacane, and professional golfer, Baldovino Dassù with several holes subsequently reshaped by Brian Jorgensen. The front nine weaves its way around the rugged hillside and natural Mediterranean vegetation featuring cork-oak woods whilst the back nine meanders in and out of ancient olive groves with a number of water hazards regularly coming into play. All this guarantees that this varied and technically challenging course will provide a good test for the visiting professionals in June 2025.

Argentario Golf & Wellness Resort is the latest PGA National to host a DP World Tour event, with the PGA National England at The Belfry hosting the Betfred British Masters and the PGA National Cyprus at Aphrodite Hills hosting the Cyprus Open from 2020 to 2022.
Commenting on the announcement, Duncan Rougvie - Head of Commercial at The PGA, said: “We are delighted to see that Argentario Golf & Wellness Resort will host a DP World Tour event.
“Argentario Golf has firmly established itself as one of the most popular venues to play golf in the country after becoming a PGA National in 2019.
“Being chosen to host a DP World Tour event is testament to their quality, exceptional facilities and commitment to offering an exceptional experience for both players and spectators. We saw that first-hand last month when the venue successfully staged the SkyCaddie PGA Pro-Captain Challenge.
“This achievement reaffirms Argentario’s PGA National status and demonstrates its ability to deliver world-class tournaments and uphold the highest standards of the game. This announcement not only marks a significant milestone for PGA National Italy, but also underlines the growing reputation of PGA Nationals worldwide.”
