Speaking about the winning putt, Redpath said: “I was very, very nervous. I did not want to let us down and just wanted to get it over with, thankfully I was able to hole the putt.”

He continued: “I have had a fantastic year as captain and this has just capped it off completely.”

PGA Professional Clark hailed his club captain’s performance, adding: “Right from the start of the qualifier Steve has played great and deserves this after a fantastic year.”

All week, every team has used the SkyCaddie SX550 Tourbook to navigate PGA National Italy with precision.

Clark explained the importance of the championship sponsors stating: “Especially not knowing the course, having the pins mapped out and distances to lay ups, carries has been very beneficial to us and a massive thanks to SkyCaddie for supporting the event again. It has been a fantastic few days.”
