Pepper added: “I’m ecstatic - I knew we were doing okay but I had no idea where we were on the leaderboard until Simon hit his second shot into the last, and that’s when he told me! I had no idea until then - it’s brilliant, I’m so elated!

“The course has been absolutely fantastic, it really has. You have to think your way around it, and the sponsors, the hotel, the whole setup is fantastic, you can’t fault it at all. I would definitely recommend people come back here.”

Lilly echoed his partner’s comments about the tournament, adding: “It’s been a really good week. It’s been nice to get the juices flowing again, playing for some good money and we’ve had a great sponsor. The PGA have done a great job, it’s a great course - it’s the sort of course you can’t let up on, so we were just trying to keep focused on every hole and did the job!”
