Craig Lee eased to the top of the Arnold Clark Tartan Tour’s Order of Merit with a rampant victory in the Deer Park Masters Pro-Am.

On one of his happiest hunting grounds, Lee reeled off rounds of 64 and 65 for a 15-under aggregate of 129 and left the rest trailing so far behind, they may as well have been playing in the 2021 edition of the event.

Lee’s mighty total left him six shots clear of nearest rival, Tom Higson, with Alastair Forsyth finishing third.

This comprehensive conquest was Lee’s fifth Deer Park triumph and the foundations for another success in West Lothian were laid with a surging 64 on day one which featured a back nine of 30.

The former DP World Tour campaigner didn’t give the chasing pack a sniff during the final round and fortified his position of authority with back-to-back birdies at the first and second.

It was a procession to a coronation from there as Lee – who has finished first, second, third and first in his last four OOM events - eased home with a neatly assembled 65 and picked up the first prize of £2,728.

Higson posted rounds of 67 and 68 to take a distant runners-up spot while Forsyth’s brace of 68s got him on the podium.

Lee’s win hoisted him to the top of the Order of Merit by a tiny margin over last year’s Tartan Tour No 1, Paul O’Hara.
