What does it take to build a career in France?

Cotswold Hills Golf Club pro Jamie-Lee McCormick is appealing for prizes for a fundraising golf day in aid of Cots for Tots after the Bristol-based charity supported her when her one-day-old daughter needed life-saving surgery.

Having arrived in the world two months early last June, Miley McCormick was ‘blue-lighted’ to St Michael’s Hospital, Bristol, a day later to undergo emergency bowel surgery.

She then spent three months in intensive care while she recovered, which is when the support from Cots for Tots proved invaluable. “We live in Cheltenham, and it involved an 80-mile round trip to be with Miley,” explained McCormick.

“So, we were incredibly lucky to be supported by Cots for Tots, a charity that provides accommodation for families with babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as well as life-saving equipment.

“By way of a thank-you, I’m holding a fundraising golf day for Cots for Tots at Cotswold Hills in September and am looking for raffle prizes and auction items.

“If any pros or their clubs can donate vouchers for fourballs I can auction off or have any suitable prizes, I’d be massively grateful.

“I’m also looking for teams to play in the event and pros would be very welcome.”
