PGA Professional Hannah Crump, based at Stonebridge Golf Club in Coventry, has been nominated for two separate England Golf Awards.

Crump has been nominated for the ‘Women and Girls’ Trailblazer’ Award and ‘Diversity and Inclusion Champion’ Award. She spoke about her delight at being nominated in both categories:

“They are new categories for this year and I am so passionate about both of them. That just makes being nominated even sweeter. Everyone involved in these categories is doing an amazing job, so just being a part of it means a lot.”

“Firstly, as a female in the golf industry the ‘Women and Girls’ Trailblazer’ is something I am massively passionate about. I obviously have a vested interest and just want to keep growing the female game as much as possible.”

“Secondly, ‘Diversity and Inclusion Champion’, is so important. I am going to do whatever I can to ensure that golf is as diverse as the world we live in. This has been a huge trigger for lots of my projects over the last year.”

Over the last year Crump has developed a reputation for championing diversity and inclusion within golf. She has been involved with ground-breaking Muslim women’s coaching sessions, building a large junior programme children and introducing over 100 women into the game.

A successful year for Crump also culminated in her winning the award of PGA Midlands Coach of the Year 2021. Despite her success, Crump has no thoughts of slowing down any time soon. She discussed some of her highlights during the past year as well as her upcoming plans:

“Working with the Muslim Golf Association alongside love.golf was a huge experience and something I will take with me throughout my whole career. Last year it was just amazing to build connections with all these different societies and find what is actually out there within golf in the UK.”

“I have so many plans for the rest of 2022 and I just want to build on the success of last year. I will be continuing my work with the Muslim Golf Association and starting more work with the African Caribbean Golf Society with Julia Regis. Overall, I am excited about what’s still to come.”

The England Golf Awards virtual ceremony, hosted by Naga Munchetty, will be broadcast live on England Golf’s YouTube channel on Wednesday 20th April from 6.30pm.
